First Look: Grant Gustin as THE FLASH in CW Series

The CW has released the first official look at Grant Gustin as The Flash in their upcoming pilot. All we get to see so far is the headgear of the costume, which was designed by Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood. I'm curious to see the full costume as well what the effects will look like when he's running at super speed.

In the series, scientist Barry Allen (Gustin) has a freak accident that gives him the power of super speed and transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive. Allen was introduced on the CW series Arrow, but he won’t make his debut as The Flash until the pilot, production on which begins next week.

We want to know what do you think, love it, hate it, or undecided?

RAIN ON OSCARS? OR IS IT ALWAYS SUNNY IN HOLLYWOOD?

From ABC NEWS:
Like the annual Tournament of Roses parade, the Oscars are usually blessed with standard Southern California weather: sunshine and blue skies.
That could be the case again this year, but not until the first major storm to hit Los Angeles this winter gives the area a major dousing.
The National Weather Service predicts heavy rain Thursday night and Friday, with showers Saturday that could continue through Oscar Sunday.

Movies Opening This Week - February 28

 From IMDB.com

Opening This Week - February 28

Non-Stop (2014) Poster

Certificate PG-13    -   Action | Mystery | Thriller

Metascore: 52/100 (16 reviews)
An air marshal springs into action during a transatlantic flight after receiving a series of text messages that put his fellow passengers at risk unless the airline transfers $150 million into an off-shore account.
Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

THE BUZZ: Liam Neeson is the new Jason Statham since we're having difficulty distinguishing one of his action roles from another these days. This time out, he reunites with his Unknown director Jaume Collet-Serra and takes to the skies over the Atlantic Ocean -- something we don't often see anymore in mainstream movies. We see Julianne Moore aboard the plane and don't imagine she just sits there the entire time, but we're wondering how exactly Oscar nominee Lupita Nyong'o fits into the narrative. Is she playing a baddie? Hope so!

Son of God (2014) Poster

Certificate PG-13    -   Drama

The life story of Jesus is told from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimate resurrection.
Watch Trailer Add to Watchlist

THE BUZZ: It's easy to see why "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett put this film together in the wake of "The Bible"'s success after Burnett and company received huge ratings and three Emmy nominations for that mini-series. Any by "put together" we mean: the 10-hour mini-series was edited down into a 2-hour film. Once lower profile than Darren Aronofsky's Noah, advanced reports of the religious groups buying out entire theaters for opening weekend have us all wondering what the opening-weekend tally will be.

Petition To Add Sarah Elizabeth Jones To The Academy Awards Memoriam Tribute

Sarah Elizabeth Jones was a West Columbia native who died last week while filming a movie in South Georgia.
Only 27 years old, Sarah's promising life was cut short when she was struck by a train while working on a dangerous set. Crew members are the unsung heroes of film and television production who work long hours and sometimes very dangerous conditions for the love of filmmaking. Sarah Elizabeth Jones was one of us.

We ask for Sarah Elizabeth Jones' love and passion for filmmaking be acknowledged on the grandest stage of all, The Academy Awards.
UPDATE: This petition will be submitted for consideration by The Academy by Friday, February 28th at 10am. Thank you for supporting one of our own.  Petition To Add Sarah Elizabeth Jones To The Academy Awards Memoriam Tribute

BOX OFFICE

From Variety - Film News
Like a plastic block locked firmly into place, "The Lego Movie" is showing tremendous hold. In its third weekend, the Warner Bros. toon can expect a secure win with about $33 million.
Meeting this mark, "Lego Movie" — co-financed and co-produced by Village Roadshow — will close the weekend with a domestic cume close to $185 million in just 17 days. On Wednesday, it crossed $200 million worldwide.
This puts a pair of young male-skewing actioners in a difficult position.
Relativity's "3 Days to Kill," co-produced and co-financed by EuropaCorp, won't make a killing despite landing in second. It took $4 million Friday, and is on track to earn about $12 million this weekend. There's also heat on Sony's "Pompeii," which will be lucky to hit $10 million through Sunday after its $3.4 million Friday bow.
Intuitively, these films are dividing the same audience, both being PG-13 action films, to their mutual detriment. Though full demo information.
